Welcome

So you have made it this far, here is the space where you will upload images, ideas, links and anything photographic of interest to you that you would like to share with your class colleagues and collaborators. Please think of this as a table in a coffee shop that you share with like minded people with whom you share your enthusiasm for photography. Bring links to exceptional photographers, exhibitions you would like to see, tutorials you have found inspiring and ideas for projects. The more you put into your photography the more you will get out and so become better photographers, better at making images that you love. What do you think of these. Comment, tell us which you prefer and why

  1. Hi everyone I suppose someone has to start ,
M name is Adrian Ward , I hope this course will take my photography one step further ,
If I had to pick one picture from the selection here , it would be the pink powder one , I like pictures with movement , but I also like the interaction between the subjects ,

  2. Hi, my names Mark.

I've had my camera for a few years and have struggled to move beyond point & click and finally pushed myself to see what else I can do with my camera.

Of the photos here I particularly like the pink paint, red hand and room from the top down photos. I like taking and looking natural photos, not staged or designed. I particularly like portraits and monochrome.

Looking forward to seeing what I can learn from the course.

  3. My favourite would have to be the child running down an alley. It's got a really strong structure: three blocks of different colour and texture; the wall on the left leading the eye in and the figure placed perfectly as a focal point.

  4. I agree with LizT, the child running down the alley is a great shot. I like that fact the boy is captured off the ground, it brings a sense of movement to the picture. A second later the boy will be gone and then a photo of the three walls (although still nice) would not be so interesting.

  5. Liz and Bruno, the image you like of the child is by Steve McCurry, look at the post after this one and follow the link as it will take you to more of his pictures
